Blow-Fill-Seal
Form, fill and seal in one sterile step
Blow-fill-seal technology moulds the container, fills it and seals it inside a closed process, cutting handling steps and contamination risk for eye drops, respiratory solutions and more.
We can help you evaluate whether BFS suits your products.
Blow-fill-seal
Containers are formed, filled and sealed in one closed cycle without human contact.
Step 1 of 3: Forming
A molten plastic tube is clamped in the mould and blown or vacuum-formed into a container.
Step 2 of 3: Filling
Sterile-filtered solution is dosed into the new container through a filling mandrel.
Step 3 of 3: Sealing
Head moulds close to form the top and seal the container, which is then released.
A full blow-fill-seal line from water and solution preparation to inspected, labelled packs.
Step 1 of 8: Water treatment
Feed water is purified and distilled into water for injection.
Step 2 of 8: Solution preparation
The drug solution is mixed, filtered and held ready for filling.
Step 3 of 8: Blow-fill-seal
Plastic containers are formed, filled and sealed in one continuous aseptic step.
Step 4 of 8: Capping
Caps are added to the sealed containers where the product requires them.
Step 5 of 8: Autoclaving
Filled containers are terminally sterilised with steam where the product allows it.
Step 6 of 8: Inspection
Containers are checked for leaks, particles and forming defects.
Step 7 of 8: Labelling
Labels are applied to each container.
Step 8 of 8: Packing & distribution
Containers are cartoned, palletised and stored for dispatch.
