Sterile liquid line
Sterile solutions are prepared, filled aseptically into vials, inspected, labelled and packed.
Step 1 of 12: Water treatment
Feed water is purified and distilled into water for injection.
Step 2 of 12: Solution preparation
Actives and excipients are dissolved and mixed into the drug solution, then filtered.
Step 3 of 12: Washing & sterilisation
Empty vials are washed and passed through a hot-air tunnel to sterilise and depyrogenate them.
Step 4 of 12: Stopper & cap treatment
Stoppers and caps are washed and sterilised and fed to the filling line.
Step 5 of 12: Filling & stoppering
Vials are filled and stoppered inside an isolator to keep the product sterile.
Step 6 of 12: Freeze drying
Where a dry product is needed, filled vials are lyophilised and stoppered under vacuum.
Step 7 of 12: Capping
Aluminium caps are crimped over the stoppers to seal each vial.
Step 8 of 12: Autoclaving
Equipment and heat-stable items are sterilised with pressurised steam.
Step 9 of 12: Inspection
Every vial is checked for particles, cracks, fill level and closure defects.
Step 10 of 12: Labelling & serialisation
Labels are applied and each pack receives a unique, verified code for traceability.
Step 11 of 12: Packing & distribution
Vials are cartoned, palletised and stored for release and dispatch.
Step 12 of 12: Parts washing
Machine change parts are cleaned and dried in a validated cycle.
